The new United States Ambassador to Argentina, Peter Lamelas, appointed by Donald Trump, used his official account on social media X to provide an update on his first few weeks in the country.

The diplomat expressed his enthusiasm for the intense activity he has developed in the capital and his relationship with the government of Javier Milei. Lamelas celebrated the speed of his work and collaboration with local authorities, stating: "Three weeks here, working at full speed with @JMilei and Argentines to expand economic opportunities for the benefit of both countries… and to enjoy the best football in the world!"

In the same message, Lamelas added that he is also in Argentina to "...and enjoy the best football in the world!", highlighting the quality and cultural impact of the sport.

The ambassador also shared a series of photographs illustrating the intense activity he has maintained. He also shared a photo of his meeting with the Governor of Mendoza, Alfredo Cornejo, and his participation in an event of AmCham Argentina.

To conclude his post, Lamelas used the Trump campaign slogan ('Make America Great Again' – 'Hacer América Grande Otra Vez') by writing "MAAGA", adding an extra 'A' in reference to Argentina.
